Merge PDF files without uploading
Add PDFs, put them in the right order, and download one combined file. Each document shows its page count and first page so you can check the order before merging; nothing is uploaded.
How it works
- Add two or more PDF files.
- Drag the rows or use the arrows to set the order; check page counts and previews.
- Merge and download the combined PDF.
Frequently asked questions
Are my PDFs uploaded?
No. pdf-lib runs in this tab, reads each file and writes the merged document in memory. Open DevTools → Network while merging: no upload request carries the files.
Can I merge encrypted or password-protected PDFs?
Not here. Encrypted files are rejected because the browser cannot open them without the password. Remove the password in your PDF app first, then merge the copy.
Does merging reduce quality?
No. Pages are copied as PDF objects, not re-rendered or re-compressed. Text stays selectable and images keep their original data.
How many files can I merge?
There is no fixed count, but the browser must hold the input and output in memory. Hundreds of megabytes can fail on a phone; merge in smaller batches if it does.
Can I reorder pages inside one PDF?
This page orders whole documents. To change the pages inside a file, use a page-organising tool first, then merge the result here.
What it can't do
- Whole-document order only; reordering individual pages is not supported.
- Encrypted or password-protected PDFs are rejected.
- Very large files are limited by the memory available to the browser tab.
